Bryan College to Host Homeschool Visitation Day

Bryan College invites homeschoolers to its campus in Dayton, Tennessee for Homeschool Visitation Day on Monday, February 6. The college has actively pursued homeschoolers with its social and academic offerings leading many students to choose Bryan as their college choice for post-secondary education. Professor Sam Youngs will be the special guest speaker on a day that will be jam-packed full of activities just for homeschoolers.

Homeschool Visitation Day (HVD) was created to introduce homeschoolers to the academic and extra-curricular opportunities available to them at Bryan College. The Christian liberal arts college has history that dates back as far as 1925, when it was established to provide a Christian worldview education to students. Its motto is “Christ Above All”. Bryan College offers more than 20 majors, has three graduate programs and a student body of just under 1,500. The college even has a homeschool specialist, Pat Wesolowski, a homeschool mom of nine who recently finished her 30+ year homeschool journey.

Students, ages 15 years old and older, and their parents are invited to this free event. It will give them an inside look at a day-in-the-life of a Bryan College student. Guests will have the opportunity to tour the campus, attend regularly scheduled classes, participate in a Q&A session, eat lunch in the cafeteria and meet current Bryan College students as well as staff and faculty at the college. Some of the special class offerings are the following:

Ready to Launch: Preparing Teens for Life after High School, Pat Wesolowski
The Freshman (1925): Learning How to Read a Film, D.R. Fraley
Sacred or Secular: How We Understand Who God Is, Jack Saunders
Preparing for College Writing, Beth Impson

The day begins at 7:30 a.m. and finishes at 4:30 p.m. Counselors will be on hand to discuss admissions, financial aid and dual enrollment options to help families plan a Bryan College education for their children.

“Bryan College offers many scholarships to homeschooled students, including an event coming up in March for seniors who have applied to Bryan,” said Wesolowski. “This is a free event that will earn a student an additional $500 to $6,000 in scholarship funds. Our academic and athletic scholarships stack (and we have a fishing team). Students who earn their bachelors at Bryan and graduate with a 3.5 GPA receive the opportunity to earn a Master’s Degree tuition free!”

Do you want to attend HVD? Register online by Wednesday, February 1. Younger siblings are welcome to attend with a registered student. For more information, visit the HVD event page or contact Pat Wesolowski at (850) 212-1232 or e-mail for more information.
