Don’t Miss Mandatory TN Promise Team Meetings

The TN Promise has been a financial blessing to several homeschool families in Tennessee . Many students who may have been unable to attend college, due to the lack of finances, now have the monetary means for continuing their education past high school. The application process for the TN Promise is relatively easy. Hopefully, your graduating high school senior completed the online application by Tuesday, November 1, of this year. If so, that was just the first step in the process.

Although there are a number of requirements that must be fulfilled by the student to remain eligible for the scholarship, everything is mapped out. The steps are easy to follow and the deadlines are extremely important to not miss. There are no exceptions when it comes to the listed dates for required actions to be taken. After the application process, the next step students must complete is to attend the first of two mandatory team meetings, which are held in each county throughout Tennessee. Team meetings for Private/Homeschool/Alternative students began being held in November and continue into December. All TN Promise applicants must attend the two scheduled mandatory team meetings (the first in 2016 and the second in 2017) to remain eligible for the scholarship. Unfortunately, if your child misses either meeting, they lose the scholarship opportunity. There are no exceptions (possible accepted excuses). Below is a list of the counties that have team meetings scheduled for homeschoolers in December. Check the listing and be sure to not miss the team meeting date in your area.
