Brooks Museum of Art Announces Its Spring 2024 Homeschool Days

Spring 2024 Dates

The Brooks Museum of Art will hold its Homeschool Days from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month this spring. Docent tours will start at 10:30 a.m. and 11:15. a.m. for a guided tour of the collection, and a drop in art making session in its art studio will be available from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Guests will have free access after the Homeschool Day activities to explore the museum on their own after 1 p.m.

FEBRUARY 8, 2024 – Black History Month

We are excited to celebrate Black History Month and explore the Black artists in the collection with you and your family. At this Homeschool Day, you can explore the painting techniques of Black artists in the collection like Sam Gilliam and Rashid Johnson to make your own masterpiece in the studio.

MARCH 14, 2024 – Women’s History Month

Learn more about the Women represented in Memphis’ art collection and their history as we celebrate Women’s History Month. At Homeschool Day, you can create a piece of art inspired by Memphis art collection and learn about the women artists at your art museum on a docent-led tour.

APRIL 11, 2023 – Fashion

Homeschool Day hits the runway on April 11, 2024, as we celebrate the opening of Christian Siriano: People Are People! Join us for a full day of learning about fashion design, exploring the new exhibition, drop-in art making activities, and more.
