Stay on Track with the Tennessee Promise

If you have a high school senior who applied for the Tennessee Promise scholarship, completing the application is just one step in the eligibility process. The following is a schedule to ensure your student remains eligible for the scholarship. Help your student stay on track by completing the scholarship requirements by the noted deadlines.
Tuesday, August 1, 2023
The online Tennessee Promise application opens. Apply now.
Wednesday, November 1, 2023
All graduating high school seniors should apply for the Tennessee Promise program by this date.
Students are encouraged to apply to the college(s) of their choice.
Thursday, November 2, 2023
Students may begin earning the required eight community service hours for eligibility.
December 2023/January 2024
Students must attend a mandatory information meeting.
Monday, April 15, 2024
Students must file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application for the 2024/2025 school year by this date. All students are encouraged to complete this form as soon as possible after the application opens in December 2023, because funds are distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Waiting to file near the deadline could reduce the amount of funding a student receives. This section will be updated as soon as the FAFSA opening date is determined.
Monday, July 1, 2024
Students planning to attend a Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) school for the fall term must complete and submit eight community service hours.
If your student is currently receiving the Tennessee Promise scholarship, their deadline calendar will be different from this one. Visit the TN Promise website for more information regarding eligibility requirements.
