Alcatraz East Crime Museum Offers Homeschool Days

Alcatraz East Crime Museum is hosting Homeschool Days in February and invites homeschoolers to visit the museum tp explore the history of American crime, law enforcement, and forensic science. The museum has something for everyone from the lover of true crime, to one who appreciates history, all the way to the one who has a curiosity about science.

“While the museum is perfect for true crime lovers, everyone who visits will find something to pique their interest, as many crime stories have shaped American history and our culture as we know it today,” said Lauren Mack of Alcatraz East. “Alcatraz East is home to over 100 artifacts and interactive exhibits that deep dive into the rich history of American Crime, making it the perfect addition to anyone’s curriculum. Students visiting Alcatraz East will explore American History from a different perspective!”

Students will learn through several exhibits and hands-on experiences that include five interactive galleries, touch-screen quizzes found throughout the museum, and be able to play with hands-on exhibits that teach visitors about the justice system, law enforcement, forensic science, and more. After a visit to Alcatraz East, an interest in one of those areas could spark a career interest.

“While the museum has mature content, our youngest visitors tend to enjoy the fun, interactive exhibits throughout the museum, as well as the science and safety information throughout,” said Mack. “We hope our museum inspires the next generation of law enforcement officers, forensic scientists, crime scene investigators, lawyers, judges, detectives, and more.”

Discounted admission to Homeschool Days is $12 per person (plus tax) for individuals, and $10 per person (plus tax) for groups of 10 or more people with advanced registration.

Alcatraz East Crime Museum offers Homeschool Days four months throughout the year, which allows homeschool families and groups to experience all the museum has to offer at a reduced rate.
